Art Exhibits in October

•October 8, 2009 • Leave a Comment

In honor of the dedication from Radha Yoga & Eatery, along with the Yasodhara Ashram, I am auctioning* my canvas prints at this exhibit to raise money for these inspiring non-profit organizations. Both of these organizations provide space, food, and education towards a peaceful and environmentally harmonious world. Whether I’m at Radha, or the Ashram, I always feel at home and am greeted with warmth by the workers and volunteers in these spaces. These organizations are a precious asset when challenging lifestyle choices are prevalent in many of our lives.
The auction will be on from now until the end of October.
(*minimum bids are in place to cover my costs, all extra proceeds go to Radha and Yasodhara)

Inspired by the work from Radha and Yasodhara do to support local agriculture,
I thought I would send out a little reminder to people about how important it is,
to buy FAIR TRADE & ORGANIC when buying chocolate for kids this Halloween. (or for anyone at anytime for that matter).
70% of the worlds chocolate comes from Africa, 40% from the Ivory Coast, where most of the farms still force child & slave labor.
Many of the big name brands like, Hershey’s, Nestle and Cadbury’s get their chocolate from these farms.
Here are some news clips to remind us of this fact.

On another note, I recently watched this great documentary on Water; called “Water – The Great Mystery”.
An inspiring look at water at how water shares and stores information at a molecular level. Here is a link to the video on-line:

A synchronistic blessing recently brought this amazing artist and beautiful being into my path, to connect with and collaborate with at Shambhala this year. Please check out her recently updated website: www.autumnskyemorrison.com

And if you get the chance, try and see her paintings in real life, they are large and breathtaking, and often include mixed media elements attached to the canvas.

HOME : A documentary about … home

I can’t even describe in words how beautiful this film is. Such that it brought me to tears in an ever expanding realization of how we have the choice to change to find harmony with earth and it’s shared inhabitants.

WASTE = FOOD

•May 29, 2009 • Leave a Comment

An inspiring documentary on the Cradle to Cradle design concept of the chemist Michael Braungart and the architect William McDonough. Winner of the Silver Dragon at the Beijing International Science Film Festival 2006. OUTLINE: Man is the only creature that produces landfills. Natural resources are being depleted on a rapid scale while production and consumption are rising in nations like China and India. The waste production world wide is enormous and if we do not do anything we will soon have turned all our resources into one big messy landfill.

This is such an inspiring and important film, and I encourage all of you to watch it. I believe it may be life changing for many of you.
